Dear Alumni,
Greeting!
As graduation season is coming, most students are concerned about work authorization and find full time job. Understanding the current US immigration law can help students efficiently utilize the OPT to get a job and eventually work in the States with H1 visa. Chinese Alumni Network at UT Dallas decided to host an event related to the legal consultation.
J. David Swaim has been the Managing Partner of Tidwell Swaim & Associates since 1991 and has practiced immigration law with the Firm since 1986. David has successfully represented over 15,000 clients in immigration proceedings, in all areas of immigration law. His primary practice is in employment, business and investment cases. He developed many of the most innovative techniques for H-1 and labor certification cases and created the immigration procedures at dozens of companies.
The following topics will be covered:
1. Overview of US immigration law after graduation
2. Work authorization, visa categories and obtaining the “green card” after graduation.
3. How to transfer H1B status from one company to another.
4. What happen if we couldn’t find full time job after OPT is over.
5. The Three ‘Green Card’ Steps.
and many more.
